Portfolio - Pro Football Hall of Fame Internship

Miranda's position as a 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame intern, working in the Volunteer Management and Famers Relations departments, strengthened both her understanding and involvement within professional football. While working in Canton, OH at The Hall, she helped facilitate and assist with many on the returning Hall of Famer’s in- residence trips. The interns and her got small group opportunities to participate in Q&As, luncheon conferences, and community appearances with these past players (James Lofton, Karl Eller, John Riggins, Joe DeLamielleure, and Ronde Barber, and Kevin Mawae). Joining the Hall of Famer relations team, she participated in overseeing the scheduling and itinerary set-up for all hall of famers as they joined them in the birthplace of Football for all Enshrinement Festival events. Her department joined the Communications, Sponsorship, and Hospitality departments to host the 2024 NFL Awards of Excellence. Her time with the Volunteer Management department allowed her to arrange and set up behind the scenes museum tours, led by museum volunteers, for teams including Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, and Cleveland Browns.

She focused her time on the volunteer team, trying to restructure the hiring process and expand their outreach to further grow a younger demographic of weekly museum volunteers. One of the tasks she took on was generating the credentials for everyone involved in all Enshrinement Festival Events, including Gold Jacket Dinner, 2024 Enshrinement Festival, and Chicago Bears .vs. Houston Texan Pre-season game, Enshrine check-ins, Carrie Underwood concert, and First play. Beyond having the chance to be at the forefront of the entire Enshrinement week, she also got to assist in kickstarting the communication and travel arrangements for the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic. One of the unique highlights of this internship was the two Make-a-Wish trips the head of HR and Miranda worked with NFL League Offices to facilitate for Enshrinement. Her time with the Pro Football Hall of Fame exceeded all expectations, providing real-world involvement with professional athletes, partnerships and engagement with external community and national organizations, and working on-field for an NFL game, sponsored events, and inducting the 2024 class of Enshrines to join the greatest in the game.

Portfolio - NASCAR Internship

During summer of 2023, Miranda relocated to Daytona Beach, Fl, where she worked as a marketing intern for NASCAR motorsports. Working both on the sports side and also very close with The NASCAR Foundation, Miranda received exposure to all areas of Public Relations, Social Media, and Communication Marketing in the world of professional sports.

Miranda was a part of the weekly coordination and preparation of Track Days, prior to weekend races. She spearheaded the advertisement and social media promotion of events, including Track Laps, VIP Guest Experience packages, and Speedy Bear Brigades. Working in connection with IMSA Racing, her efforts also went toward the silent auction, sponsorship deals, and reception suites for the Rolex 24 race at Daytona International Speedway. Miranda even got the opportunity to be involved in the finalization of pre-race hospitality plans for VIP guests and sponsors for the first-ever Chicago Street Race.

One challenge that allowed Miranda to grow in a professional sports environment like NASCAR was their final internship project. Working alongside four other interns, solely connecting remotely and via Zoom from three different national offices, they executed a well-thought youth activation, in which they presented the Chief Executive Board, including NASCAR president Steve Phelps. Creating a dialogued background of their plan, including logistical needs, financial requirements, and an entire mock-up of brand assets that would be used for this activation project, Miranda learned effective approaches to collaborating with a team.
